Monochrome image of figures in an architectural interior, flanked by two sections of vertical script
A horizontal, monochrome ink painting on aged, light brown paper depicts an interior scene with multiple figures and two sections of vertical script. The composition is divided into three main visual areas. On the far left, a block of vertical, calligraphic script occupies about one-fifth of the width. The central and largest section, approximately three-fifths of the width, illustrates a building's interior from an elevated perspective, as if the roof has been removed. Diagonal beams and vertical posts define the rooms and corridors. Figures are rendered with simple, bold ink outlines and minimal shading. In the upper left of this central section, two figures are partially visible, looking downwards. Below them, a figure with a tall, dark hat is seated, facing right. Further right and slightly lower, two more figures are seated, also facing right. In the upper right part of the central section, several figures, mostly women with long, dark hair, are seated or reclining, wearing garments with striped patterns. In the lower right of this section, a single figure with long, dark hair is seated, facing left, next to a stack of cylindrical objects. The far right section, similar in size to the left, contains another block of vertical, calligraphic script.
