Ink painting of a hawk on a branch beneath a pine tree
A vertical ink wash painting on light tan paper depicts a large hawk perched on a dark, gnarled branch or rock. The hawk, rendered in shades of black, white, and gray, faces towards the upper right, its head turned upwards, appearing alert. Its feathers show detailed patterns, with lighter plumage on its chest and head, and darker, spotted feathers on its back and wings. Its talons, subtly highlighted with a yellowish hue, grip the dark perch. Above the hawk, a thick, dark pine branch extends from the upper left, adorned with clusters of pine needles and a few small cones, all rendered with varied ink strokes. The background is a plain, light tan. A small red seal is visible in the lower right corner of the main painting area. The artwork is framed by decorative borders: a narrow band of gold and black pattern at the very top and bottom, and wider teal-green borders with a subtle pattern running vertically along the left and right sides.
