Ink wash painting of a tall waterfall cascading through misty mountains, trees, and rocks
A vertical ink wash painting depicts a mountainous landscape in shades of grey and black on a light tan ground. The upper portion of the composition shows faint, indistinct mountain peaks shrouded in mist, with only the suggestion of their forms emerging from the hazy background. On the left side, a tall, narrow waterfall descends from a high cliff, its white streaks contrasting with the darker rock face. The waterfall widens as it reaches the mid-ground, breaking into multiple cascades over large, dark rocks. To the right of the waterfall, a prominent, gnarled tree with bare branches stands on a rocky outcrop, its form detailed with fine brushstrokes. Other smaller trees and foliage are visible among the rocks. The base of the waterfall flows into a turbulent stream with visible ripples, moving towards the bottom center of the composition. The entire scene is enveloped in a soft mist. A small, red rectangular seal with illegible characters is present in the lower right corner of the artwork.
