A tall ink wash painting shows a powerful waterfall descending through misty mountains and dark, rocky terrain
This vertical ink wash painting depicts a mountainous landscape with a prominent waterfall. The upper portion of the painting features a light, hazy sky above distant, softly rendered mountain peaks that fade into the mist. A narrow, powerful waterfall emerges from a dark, V-shaped gorge in the upper-middle section, cascading vertically down the center of the composition. The water appears bright white against the darker, textured cliffs that flank it. As the waterfall descends, the surrounding mountains become more defined, with darker ink washes indicating rocky slopes and sparse, dark green trees clinging to the sides. Mist or clouds are suggested by lighter areas of wash, particularly around the mid-section of the falls. In the lower half, the waterfall widens slightly before crashing into a turbulent pool. Large, dark, rounded boulders dominate the immediate foreground, with water flowing around and over them, creating smaller cascades and ripples. A small cluster of pine-like trees is visible on a ridge to the right of the lower falls. A square red seal is present in the upper right corner, and faint vertical script is visible on the left side, midway down the waterfall.
