A bird on a branch looks down at a spider dangling from a web, with reddish-brown leaves
A bird is perched on a slender branch, looking towards a spider. The background is a uniform, light beige or off-white. The bird, positioned in the upper left, faces right and slightly downward. It has a light brown underside, a greyish-blue back and wings, and a pale face with a dark eye and a small, dark, hooked beak. Its head is tilted, focusing its gaze towards the lower right. The thin, dark branch supporting the bird extends from the lower left, curving upwards. Clusters of leaves, rendered in shades of reddish-brown, muted green, and hints of orange, are attached to this branch and another branch in the upper right. These leaves appear to be autumn foliage. From an unseen point in the upper right, a fine, light-colored thread descends, with a small, dark spider hanging from it, positioned in the middle right of the composition. The spider is significantly smaller than the bird. Another dark, thicker branch extends from the middle right downwards, also bearing a few reddish-brown leaves. A small, dark calligraphic inscription with a red seal is visible in the lower left corner.
