A vertical scroll features flowing black calligraphy in the upper section and six seated figures below
A vertical scroll, primarily light beige, is framed by a light blue border on the left and right, and a patterned gold-brown border at the top and bottom. The upper two-thirds of the beige scroll area are filled with vertical lines of black calligraphy, written in a flowing, cursive script. The lines of text vary in length and density, with some characters appearing larger or more emphasized. A small red seal is visible within the calligraphy in the upper right section. Below this main body of text, there are smaller, more scattered lines of calligraphy. The lower third of the scroll depicts six figures seated on the beige surface. They are arranged in two main groups. In the upper right of this group, three figures are seated close together. One figure, with a bald head and a light brown striped robe, faces left and has an upturned mouth. To their right, another figure in a dark green robe and a black cap also has an upturned mouth, facing left. Below these two, a figure with long dark hair, wearing a white and red layered robe, sits facing forward. In the lower left of the group, three more figures are seated. One figure, wearing a blue robe and with dark hair styled in a bun, holds a fan and faces right. To their right, a figure in a light green robe and a black cap sits facing right. Further to the right and slightly behind, a figure in a dark gray or black robe sits facing left, with a bald head. Another small red seal is visible in the lower right corner of the beige scroll area, below the figures. The figures are rendered with delicate lines and muted colors.
