Vertical scroll with black calligraphy above an ink painting of jagged rocks and sparse trees
This is a tall, narrow vertical scroll with a light tan fabric border on its left and right sides. At the very top, a decorative band features a repeating pattern of small red and black floral or geometric motifs. Below this band, the upper two-thirds of the scroll are filled with vertical lines of black calligraphic text, written on light-colored paper. The text is arranged in columns, reading from right to left. Below the calligraphy, the lower third of the scroll contains a monochrome ink painting. This painting depicts several tall, jagged rock formations or mountains, rendered with varying shades of black ink wash and sharp, angular lines. Sparse, small trees and dots of foliage are scattered across the rocks, particularly in the lower left and central areas. The painting uses a limited palette of black ink on the light paper. In the bottom left corner of the painted section, two small red square seals are visible. The scroll concludes at the very bottom with another decorative band, identical to the one at the top, featuring the same repeating red and black pattern.
