A standing man with a beard and hat holds a flowering branch, beside black calligraphy
The artwork is a vertical scroll painting depicting a standing man against a light tan background, framed by decorative borders. The man is positioned centrally, facing forward with his head slightly turned to the left. He has an oval-shaped face with light skin, narrow eyes, a long thin mustache, and a pointed beard. He wears a dark, rounded hat with a flat top. His attire consists of a long, flowing robe in a light tan color, outlined in black, with wide sleeves. A darker, cape-like garment covers his shoulders. The robe features decorative bands with intricate patterns along its front opening and bottom hem. His hands are clasped in front, mostly concealed by his sleeves. From his left sleeve, a thin branch with small white and pink blossoms and green leaves extends upwards. A small, rectangular pouch or bag with a tassel hangs from his left side. Dark shoes are visible beneath the hem of his robe. In the upper right section of the tan background, there are several vertical lines of black calligraphy. The text reads: "徑山容付枝", "不是清中柏", "何如社有青", "村尾無". The main painting is bordered on the left and right by wide, light brown panels adorned with repeating dark blue floral patterns, possibly plum blossoms, with lighter centers. A narrow blue patterned strip also separates the bottom of the painting from the lower border.
