An open palm-leaf manuscript with dark script on light leaves and a binding string
A palm-leaf manuscript is horizontally oriented and slightly open, against a plain, light background. The upper section features a single, light-toned rectangular leaf, densely covered with small, dark script. Two small, dark circular holes are visible on this leaf, one positioned towards the left and another towards the right. A thin, dark string passes through these holes, forming a loose, irregular loop above the left side of the leaf and a small, tight knot on the right. Below this open leaf, a stack of darker, rectangular leaves is visible, appearing to be bound together. These stacked leaves rest within a dark, shallow, rectangular base or cover, which extends slightly beyond the edges of the leaves. The entire object is centered in the frame, with the top leaf slightly elevated above the lower stack. The texture of the leaves appears somewhat fibrous, and the script is uniform across the visible surface.
