Bronze relief of a draped woman and putti harvesting and pressing grapes
A horizontal relief sculpture, rendered in metallic, muted gold and bronze tones, depicts a scene against a dark, almost black background. In the center, a draped female figure sits, her hair pulled back, actively pressing clusters of grapes into a large, round, fluted vat. Her arms are raised, and her gaze is directed downwards at her task. To her left, two putti are engaged with grapes. One stands, holding a cluster of grapes above its head, while another kneels, reaching towards a pile of grapes on the ground. Behind them, a tall, slender vase stands upright. To the right of the central female figure, three more putti are visible. One stands prominently, holding a cluster of grapes in one hand and a long, flowing ribbon or piece of drapery that curves upwards. Behind this putto, another stands, holding a round, flat object resembling a tambourine or cymbal high above its head. A third putto kneels on the far right, reaching into a pile of grapes. The ground beneath the figures is textured with grapevines and leaves. All figures and objects are rendered in a three-dimensional, sculptural manner.
