A gnarled branch with white, pink, and red flowers, including large peonies, against a light brown ground
The horizontal painting features a variety of flowering plants against a plain, light brown background. On the left, a thick, gnarled branch with dark brown bark extends from the lower left, curving upwards and then downwards towards the center. This branch is adorned with numerous clusters of small white blossoms, each with a yellow center. Below and to the left of this branch, a plant with large, dark green leaves bears several pink flowers, some fully open with visible yellow stamens, and one in bud form. Further to the right and slightly below the white blossoms, a cluster of deep red flowers with yellow centers emerges from a leafy stem. Towards the right side of the composition, a cluster of large, creamy white flowers with multiple petals and green leaves dominates the upper right. Below these, a large, full pink peony with many delicate petals is prominent. Smaller red flowers, similar to those on the left, are also visible among green foliage in the lower right quadrant. The various plants and branches fill the majority of the canvas, forming a dense floral arrangement across the light brown ground.
