Two small birds perch on a sparse branch, with calligraphic text and red seals on a light background
This vertical painting features two small birds perched on a sparse tree branch against a light, plain background. The overall color palette is muted, primarily consisting of grays, browns, and light beige. A slender tree trunk, rendered in dark brown and black, extends upwards along the left side of the composition. Several bare branches, also dark, extend horizontally and diagonally to the right. Some of these branches bear small, light brown or beige leaves or seed pods, clustered in groups. The upper bird is positioned on a thin, upward-reaching branch in the upper-middle section of the painting. It faces towards the right, displaying a light underside and darker back and wings, with a long tail. The lower bird is situated on a thicker branch in the lower-middle section, facing left and looking upwards towards the top bird. It also has a light underside, darker markings, and a long tail. In the upper right quadrant, vertical lines of black calligraphic text are present. Several square red seals are visible: one in the upper left corner, three clustered near the calligraphic text, and two more at the bottom edge of the painting, one on the left and one on the right.
