A vertical landscape painting with towering mountains, dense trees, and two small buildings
This vertical ink painting on light brown paper depicts a vast, mountainous landscape. The upper left corner features several columns of dark, vertical calligraphy. The top half of the composition is dominated by towering, rugged mountains, rendered with dark, textured brushstrokes that suggest rocky surfaces and dense foliage. Some peaks appear to be partially obscured by mist or clouds. Below these highest peaks, a series of smaller, rounded mountains are visible, also covered in trees. A narrow waterfall or stream descends from one of these mountains on the left, flowing into the middle ground. The middle section of the painting is filled with numerous trees, primarily tall, slender pines with dark, feathery needles, forming a dense forest that extends into the foreground. In the lower section, a cluster of large, gnarled trees with thick trunks and extensive canopies stands prominently. To the left and right of these trees are two buildings with dark, sloped roofs and open fronts, nestled among the foliage and rocky ground. The ground is uneven and textured with ink washes and strokes. Small red seals are visible in the upper right and lower left corners.
