A horizontal landscape painting depicts cranes, a pheasant, and small birds among trees and foliage
This horizontal painting depicts a natural landscape on a light brown background. On the far left, a tall tree with green leaves stands behind a large, light brown rock. Perched on this rock is a colorful pheasant, facing right, with a blue body, red head, and long, patterned tail feathers in shades of brown and green. Smaller green plants grow around the base of the rock and tree. Moving towards the center, two large trees with slender trunks and drooping green foliage dominate the midground. Several small, dark-colored birds are perched within the branches of these trees, and a few more are depicted in flight between them. Below the central trees, two large white cranes with black wingtips and red crowns stand on a fallen, gnarled log. One crane faces left with its head slightly raised, while the other faces right. To the right of the cranes, a smaller white bird is partially visible near the base of the log. The ground throughout the central area is covered with various clumps of green grasses and small bushes. The rightmost section of the painting is more open, with fewer large elements. Scattered across the light brown ground are several large, round green lotus leaves, some with visible stems. A few small, dark birds are also visible in this area, one near the lotus leaves and another flying higher up. The scene depicts a natural setting populated by various birds and lush vegetation.
