Ink painting on a vertical scroll shows slender orchid leaves and delicate blossoms on a light ground
A tall, narrow vertical scroll displays an ink painting of orchids on light tan-colored paper. The top and bottom edges of the scroll are bordered with a decorative gold pattern. The orchid plant originates in the lower-left corner, with several long, slender leaves rendered in varying shades of dark grey and black ink. Some leaves are broad and sweeping, curving upwards and to the right, while others are thin and grass-like. Delicate orchid blossoms, depicted with lighter ink washes and darker outlines, are scattered along the stems, appearing in various stages of opening. One very long, thin, dark line extends from the middle-right upwards toward the top-right, separate from the main plant. On the left side, near the upper-middle, are several lines of black ink calligraphy. Below the calligraphy are two small, square red seals. Another small, square red seal is visible near the bottom-left, nestled among the orchid leaves.
