Ink painting of chrysanthemums growing beside a tall, craggy rock, with extensive calligraphy above
A vertical ink painting depicts a tall, craggy rock on the right side, with a cluster of flowering plants to its left and behind it. The rock, rendered in varying shades of grey and black ink, has a generally light body with darker outlines and textured strokes suggesting its irregular, weathered surface. It tapers slightly towards the bottom and has a more defined, darker top edge. To the left of the rock, and extending upwards and outwards, are numerous chrysanthemums with many petals, depicted in various shades of grey and black ink. Their leaves are also rendered in dark ink, creating a dense foliage. Below the rock and plants, sparse blades of grass are visible. The upper right and upper central portions of the painting are filled with extensive black calligraphic text, arranged in vertical columns. Several red seals are present: one small square seal near the top right, a larger rectangular seal below the main body of text on the right, and another small square seal on the left side, roughly centered vertically.
