Traditional landscape painting with towering mountains, a winding river, and scattered buildings among trees
This vertical landscape painting depicts a panoramic view of mountains, water, and trees under a light sky. The upper right is dominated by a tall, pointed mountain peak, textured with vertical green brushstrokes suggesting foliage and rock formations. To its left, a series of lower, rounded hills extend, partially veiled by a pale, misty wash. Numerous small, dark green trees densely cover the mountain slopes and hillsides. Below the mountainous terrain, a wide body of water, possibly a river or lake, meanders through the mid-ground, reflecting the muted light. Its banks are lined with clusters of trees, some with dark, bare branches and others with sparse, light green foliage. Several small, simple buildings with light walls and dark roofs are nestled discreetly among the trees and along the water's edge, particularly on the right bank. The land areas are depicted in soft washes of light brown, ochre, and pale green. In the foreground, on the left, a group of tall, slender trees with dark trunks and delicate branches stands prominently. A weeping willow-like tree with drooping branches extends over a small inlet on the lower right. Rocks and patches of light green grass are scattered across the immediate foreground. The painting features a palette of various greens, browns, ochres, and grays. In the upper left, two columns of black calligraphic text are present, accompanied by two red square seals. The text reads: "山翁余知緒年六十悠悠六十餘年矣余復之以破硯寫步丙申嘉平月十有二日王華" and "甲午仲夏擬趙千里筆法島山王華寫". A single red square seal is also visible in the lower right corner.
