Two dark birds swimming in water, with reeds, pink and white flowers, and calligraphic text above
The artwork is a horizontal painting on light tan paper. The composition features a landscape in the lower half and calligraphic text in the upper half. In the lower left, a small patch of green reeds and grass grows on a slightly raised bank. To its right, a body of water is depicted with a light blue-grey wash, curving from the left edge towards the center. Two dark-colored birds, possibly ducks or cormorants, swim in this water. The bird on the left is positioned slightly ahead of the one on the right, both facing generally towards the right. A small, light-colored, indistinct object is partially visible in the water near the left bank, behind the reeds. In the lower right, another patch of green grass and reeds is visible, from which small pink and white flowers emerge. These flowers are clustered together, with some appearing as simple white dots and others showing faint pink hues. The upper portion of the painting contains several columns of black calligraphic text. From right to left, there are three main blocks of text. The rightmost block has two columns, the middle block has three columns, and the leftmost block has four columns. The characters are written in a fluid, cursive style. The background throughout is a uniform light tan, showing some subtle variations in tone and texture.
