Two hanging scrolls depict flowering plants: one with white blossoms, the other with red berries and leaves
The image displays two vertical hanging scrolls, presented side-by-side against a dark, plain background. Each scroll consists of a central painted panel, framed by decorative borders, and topped with a lighter fabric section from which it hangs. The scroll on the left features a painting on a light tan background. A tall, slender plant with delicate white, feathery blossoms dominates the composition, extending from the lower center upwards. Below these white flowers, darker, broader leaves, some appearing brown or dried, are visible. Thin green stems and other foliage are interspersed throughout the lower and middle sections of the plant. A small vertical inscription in dark characters is present in the upper left corner of the painted panel. The scroll on the right also has a light tan painted background. It depicts a branch laden with numerous small red berries and small green leaves, extending from the lower right towards the upper center. Below this branch, large, rounded green leaves are prominent, with some appearing partially submerged or folded. Smaller white and green flowers and various foliage are scattered around the base of the composition. A small, dark-colored bird is perched among the branches and leaves in the lower right quadrant. A small vertical inscription in dark characters is visible in the upper right corner of this painted panel. Both painted panels are bordered by a narrow band of dark blue fabric with a repeating gold pattern, which in turn is surrounded by a wider border of brown fabric featuring a subtle, embossed leaf or floral pattern. The uppermost and lowermost sections of each scroll are made of a muted, light green-gold fabric with a faint, wavy pattern. Silver-colored metal hanging bars and decorative ribbons are visible at the very top of each scroll.
