A speckled bird with an open beak perches on a flowering plum branch above bamboo and water
A vertical scroll painting depicts a bird and flowering branches. The central image is on a light brown or tan paper, framed by decorative green fabric borders. In the lower half of the central panel, a bird with speckled brown and white plumage is perched on a thick, gnarled branch. Its beak is open, and its head feathers appear slightly ruffled. The branch extends from the right, curving downwards and to the left, with smaller twigs branching off. Several clusters of light pink or white plum blossoms with red centers are visible on these branches, particularly in the upper right and lower left of the bird. Below the main branch, a few green bamboo leaves are depicted, extending upwards from the lower right. Towards the bottom of the painting, a faint horizontal line suggests a body of water, with a few blades of dark green grass emerging from the water's edge on the left. A small, irregular red seal impression is visible in the lower left corner of the central panel. The upper half of the painting is largely empty, with only a few sparse plum branches extending from the right side.
