Vertical scroll with black calligraphy, red seals, and an ink painting of bamboo and a rock
A tall, vertical scroll features a light brown paper ground with decorative gold-patterned borders at the very top and bottom. The upper third of the scroll contains several columns of black calligraphic text, written vertically from right to left. Below the text, on the right side, are two prominent red square seals, one stacked above the other, with illegible characters. Further to the left, below the text, is another smaller red seal. The middle section of the scroll is largely blank. The lower third of the scroll displays an ink painting. On the right, a cluster of slender bamboo stalks rises, with several dark green or black leaves extending from them. To the left of the bamboo, a large, dark, irregularly shaped mass, possibly a rock or mound, is depicted with varying shades of black and gray ink washes. A small, circular red seal with illegible characters is located in the bottom right corner of the painted section.
