A tall bamboo stalk with many branches and leaves in dark ink on a light ground
A vertical ink wash depiction on light, off-white paper shows a bamboo plant. A thick, dark bamboo stalk rises from the lower left, extending upwards and slightly right. Horizontal breaks in the dark ink indicate visible nodes. Several thinner branches emerge from the main stalk, curving upwards and outwards. Numerous bamboo leaves, rendered with swift, varying brushstrokes of black ink, cluster around these branches. Some leaves also appear to drift downwards across the composition. The leaves range from solid, dark shapes to lighter, more translucent strokes. Towards the upper right, more branches and leaves extend diagonally across the frame. In the middle right section, a vertical column of black calligraphic text is visible, followed by a small, square red seal impression below it. The background is a plain, unpainted light surface.
