Dark bamboo stalks and leaves heavily covered in white against a gray background on a scroll
This vertical scroll painting depicts bamboo, rendered in dark gray and black ink. The artwork is presented on a scroll with a light beige fabric border, which has a subtle, repeating pattern of leaves or flowers. Wider horizontal bands of a solid, slightly darker beige fabric are present at the very top and bottom of the scroll. The central painted area showcases several stalks of bamboo, rendered in various shades of dark gray and black ink, extending upwards from the lower part of the composition. The bamboo leaves are heavily outlined and filled with white or very light gray, appearing as a thick layer of snow. The background behind the bamboo is a soft, graduated wash of light gray, which darkens slightly towards the upper center and lightens towards the bottom. On the left side, near the middle, a vertical column of dark calligraphic text is visible, with a small, square red seal directly below it. Another small, square red seal is located in the lower right corner of the painted section.
