Ink painting of tall grasses, bamboo, and a large rock, with calligraphy and a red seal
A vertical ink painting, rendered in shades of black and grey ink, is set on a light brown-grey ground and framed by a patterned border. In the upper left quadrant, a block of vertical calligraphy is visible. From right to left, the first line reads "楚江一千里一曲", the second line reads "不盡間不盡國", and the third line reads "二月". To the left of this main block, a smaller, less distinct vertical inscription is present. Below these inscriptions, a square red seal is visible. The lower two-thirds of the painting depict a natural scene. A large, dark grey rock with textured washes dominates the lower left-center. To its immediate left, a cluster of thin, upright bamboo-like stalks with pointed leaves emerges from behind the rock. To the right of the large rock, a dense group of tall, slender grasses or orchid-like plants with long, arching leaves extends upwards and to the right. Some of these plants feature small, delicate blossoms or seed pods along their stems. Several smaller, dark grey rocks are positioned at the base of the main rock and to its right. The ground beneath the plants and rocks is depicted with light grey washes, creating a subtle base for the composition. The background is a plain, light brown-grey, providing a neutral setting for the monochromatic ink elements.
