Vertical scroll with black calligraphy, a white flower, and colorful leaves on light brown
A tall, narrow, vertically oriented scroll is framed by dark brown outer borders. At the top and bottom, a dark blue-black inner border features a repeating pattern of gold swirling lines and small, stylized gold flower shapes. The central field is a light, warm brown paper, predominantly covered with black calligraphic text. The text is arranged in numerous vertical columns of varying lengths, occupying most of the left and central portions of the scroll from near the top to near the bottom. The script is fluid, characterized by varied brushstrokes and intricate forms. Approximately halfway down the right side, a single white flower with several green leaves is painted. The flower has multiple petals, appearing full and slightly ruffled. Towards the bottom right, a cluster of five-lobed leaves is depicted. Some leaves are a reddish-brown color, while others are green. They are arranged as if falling or growing on faint, thin lines that suggest branches or vines. A small, dark, bird-like shape is visible near the bottom-most leaves. Several small, red, square or oval seals are visible among the calligraphy, particularly in the upper and middle sections.
