A large leafy plant with a slender insect on thin stalks above it, in ink
The artwork is a monochrome ink painting on a light, warm-toned background, depicting a large leafy plant and an insect. The central and lower-left portion of the composition is dominated by a substantial plant, possibly a type of cabbage or leafy vegetable. Its broad, textured leaves fan out from a central base, rendered with varying shades of dark gray and lighter gray ink, creating depth and form. The leaves on the left side are darker and more defined, while those extending to the right are lighter and more subtly depicted. Above and to the right of the main plant, a long, slender insect is visible. It has a small body and very long, thin legs, and appears to be resting on or clinging to a few faint, delicate stalks or blades of grass that extend upwards from the plant below. The insect is rendered with fine, dark lines. In the upper left corner, several columns of vertical text are written in dark ink. On the far right edge, a narrow, vertical strip contains more dark text. Near the bottom right corner, above two prominent red square seals, there is a smaller section of faint, vertical text.
