A vertical scroll painting depicts red, white, and light blue poppies with green leaves and buds
A vertical scroll painting features a central image of a cluster of poppies and their foliage against a plain, light beige background. The central panel is bordered on the sides by a gray fabric with a subtle geometric pattern, and at the top and bottom by a narrower strip of light beige fabric adorned with a swirling gold vine motif. The poppies are concentrated in the lower two-thirds of the central panel. There are several large, open blossoms in varying shades of red, white, and a pale purplish-blue. Two prominent red poppies are visible, one positioned towards the upper left of the floral cluster, and another slightly lower and to the right, displaying ruffled petals. Three white poppies are also present: a large, fully open one to the left, and two smaller, partially open ones below it. A single pale purplish-blue poppy, with its petals slightly curled, is situated on the lower right side of the arrangement. Slender green stems support the blossoms and leaves, some exhibiting gentle curves. The leaves are broad, lobed, and dark green, with visible veins, forming a dense cluster around the base of the flowers. Several closed poppy buds, oval-shaped and green, are depicted on thin stems; one is prominently placed at the very top of the floral arrangement, and another is visible further to the right. Subtle, lighter green, feathery foliage is rendered in the background behind the main poppy cluster, particularly noticeable on the lower left side. In the lower right corner of the central panel, there is a vertical inscription in black characters, accompanied by a red square seal.
